Submissions

We publish three times a year: in April for the Spring Issue, August for the Summer Issue, and December for the Winter Issue. Our submission windows are as follows:

February 1 – 29 for Spring Issue
June 1 – 30 for Summer Issue
October 1 – 31 for Winter Issue

Please send no more than three poems as a word document to: bathmagg@gmail.com with the subject line ‘SUBMISSION’. Poems must be previously unpublished. Please include a short biographical note in the body of your email. Please create a new email thread for each submission (i.e.: if you’ve submitted to us before, please don’t reply to a previous submission’s email thread). Poems submitted outside of the submission window will not be read.

We no longer accept simultaneous submissions. i.e.: please don’t send us work that is being considered elsewhere. We are a very small team, with just the one inbox. We believe our turnaround time of five weeks from the close of the submission window is fair (and even quick) all things considered.

We have no restriction on theme or length but for long poems or sequences we suggest no more than three A4 pages.

We aim to respond to all submissions within five weeks from the close of the submission window.

We currently do not offer payment for poems (although we hope this might change soon). bath magg is run by a tiny team of volunteers, so, for now, all we can offer is our love.
